Indemnity

In insurance we use a word, indemnity. Up until 4 months ago, I had never even heard that word. Here is the definition:
indemnity
1. protection or security against damage or loss.
2. compensation for damage or loss sustained.
3. something paid by way of such compensation.
4. protection, as by insurance, from liabilities or penalties incurred by one's actions.
5. legal exemption from penalties attaching to unconstitutional or illegal actions, granted to public officers and other persons.

In insurance, we are there to "get you back to where you started." For example, a tree hits your house, we will fix the house to get it back like the way it was before.

Now, it is nice to be back the way we were before, but it is even better to be put back better than we were before. That is what God does. He takes our casualties and, if we allow Him to, He offers full redemption. I am studying Psalms right now and we are in Psalms 130. Verse 7 and 8 state, "Oh Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is FULL REDEMPTION! He himself will redeem Israel (us) from ALL of our sins."

God more than indemnified us. He offer us protection and security. He was the compensation for our losses. He personally paid the price by offering up Himself. He offers protection from the liabilities of this world incurred by one's actions. And most importantly, He offers us legal exemption from penalties attaching to unconstitutional or illegal actions (HIS LAW) and it is granted to all who are willing to accept.

Not only does He do all that but He also uses those things to bring Him glory. He offers us FULL redemption and then He takes that mess we made and uses it for our benefit and His glory.

Beth Moore says in her Psalm study, "We are often convinced that the more we can be blamed for our plight, the less God can do about it."
Here is Jeremiah 29: 12-14 "You will call to me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you - the Lord's declaration- and I will RESTORE YOUR FORTUNES and GATHER YOU FROM ALL THE NATIONS AND PLACES WHERE I BANISHED YOU- the Lord's declaration. I will restore you to the place I deported you from."

He is waiting to restore you back better than you started, will you let Him?
